Job Description

The MSL collaborates closely with internal teams including Clinical, R&D, Marketing, and Sales to support the full product lifecycle and pipeline. As the scientific expert within an assigned territory, the MSL travels regularly to provide education, scientific exchange, and clinical support to the Sales organization.

Through external engagement and subject-matter expertise, the MSL gathers and communicates medical insights from the field to inform strategic planning and execution across the organization’s portfolio of genetic testing products. The role requires strong technological aptitude and the ability to leverage scientific and digital tools appropriately to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a scientific representative to clinicians, academic institutions, and professional organizations.

  • Conduct scientific exchange and collect, analyze, and communicate insights related to marketed and pipeline products.

  • Respond to unsolicited requests for medical and scientific information from healthcare professionals.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within oncology and other relevant healthcare communities.

  • Develop educational materials for healthcare professionals and patients, as appropriate.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s degree or pharmacist license required.

Experience

  • Academic or professional background in oncology preferred, particularly in colorectal or bladder cancer.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency.

  • Confident, outgoing, and professional presence.

  • Strong independence of thought with the ability to communicate persuasively.

  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, R&D) and external healthcare partners.

Fraud Alert

Candidate safety is a top priority at Planet Pharma. The industry has seen an increase in people falsely representing themselves as recruiters to gather personal information from job seekers. For your safety, do not provide sensitive data to anyone you have not spoken with thoroughly, never provide banking information during the application process and always double check the email address of the Recruiter to ensure it’s from an official Planet Pharma domain (@planet-pharma.com, @planet-pharma.co.uk, and @ppgadvisorypartners.com) and not a domain with an alternative extension like .net, .org or .jobs.
